Gomel "Seismotekhnika" has established production drilling unit heavy class

Gomel-based seismotechnika, together with the Italian company Drillmec, has launched production of a mobile drilling unit with a load capacity of 225 tons (ARS-225), BelTA learned from the press service of Belorusneft Production Association.

Gomel machine builders thus expanded the model range of heavy mobile drilling units. "The production of drilling equipment with a capacity of 225 tons has been established for the first time among manufacturers of drilling equipment in the former Soviet Union," the press service added.

The company noted that the ARS-225 is designed to perform technological operations when drilling oil and gas wells up to 4 km deep, development, repair work, lowering and lifting of pumping and drilling pipes, installation of operational equipment at the mouth and elimination of technological accidents.

Among the main features of the ARS-225 is the high location of the working platform, a reinforced mast with a height of 42 m. the Drilling rig is equipped with an upper power drive Drillmec HTD-250CR-LT. The six-axle chassis was also designed and manufactured by JSC seismotechnika.

One of the complexes has already been transferred to Belorusneft's Department for enhanced oil recovery and well repair. The installation is planned to be used by side-hole drilling teams. The technical capabilities of the new unit allow it to be used on gas wells in the Novy Urengoy area, the press service said.

The company is completing the production of a batch of ARS-225 under an agreement with Rosneft. For the export version, Gomel machine builders took into account the special requirements of the Russian customer: they switched the installation from diesel to electric traction, and lowered the height of the mast. In total, the Russians plan to supply five mobile heavy-duty drilling rigs.
