President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko noted the European level of health care in Belarus and the Gomel region in particular. He stated this today at the meeting with activists of the Gomel region, reports the correspondent of BelTA.

"In Gomel, we have created a powerful medical base. Not worse than in the capital. If, God forbid, something happened serious human health, then he doesn't have many disease to go to Minsk. In Gomel there is almost everything. Doctors, equipment, and modern centers," - said the head of state.

Alexander Lukashenko stressed that in the Gomel region and built many healthcare institutions, and performance area in the medical field is very good. "I looked recently on medical records in the Gomel region compared with the European. No worse than the Europeans. And this is the result of the tremendous work that we have done in health care in recent years" - drew the attention of the President.

He also noted that the country and the Gomel region in particular gained unique experience in overcoming the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster. "Even advanced Japanese, we should thank them with us on this issue to work", - said the head of state.
