The mission of CIS observers at the presidential elections in Belarus will be headed by the Chairman of the Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev. His candidacy was agreed today at a meeting of the Council of permanent Plenipotentiary representatives of CIS member States under Charter and other bodies of the CIS in Minsk, the correspondent of BelTA.

Now comes the process of formation of the mission. The CIS Executive Committee sent invitations to the countries of the Commonwealth with a request to nominate their representatives. It is planned that the CIS observers will work in all regions of the country. On election day, they will be present at polling stations from the time of their discovery to the completion of the counting of votes.

His statement on the results of monitoring the election campaign in Belarus, the mission will announce on August 10.

The presidential elections in Belarus scheduled for 9 August. The Central election Commission on July 14 has registered five presidential candidates.
