President: Belarus has a well-developed system to support older adults

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to his compatriots as the country marks Day for Older Persons, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“This holiday once again reminds us of the cultural code of the Belarusians, in which great respect for elders is a major priority in society, while wisdom and rich life experience are always the basis for making fateful decisions,” the head of state said.

“This year has been declared Year of People's Unity. Our unity would be impossible without the consolidation of all generations in an effort to ensure peace and harmony in their native land, build the future of their country, based on time-tested traditions and values. You, the people of the golden age, are the guarantor of their preservation. That is why one of the top priorities of the state policy has always been social security of elderly citizens,” stressed Aleksandr Lukashenko.

The president stressed that Belarus has established a well-developed system to support and improve the quality of life of this category of people, with opportunities for active longevity and self-realization continuing to expand.

The president wished everyone strong health, excellent mood, peace of mind and wellbeing both on holidays and weekdays.
