Gomel Oblast seeks closer ties with Russia’s Primorye Territory

Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Ivan Krupko and Governor of Russia’s Primorye Territory Oleg Kozhemyako held talks in Vladivostok, BelTA has learned from the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee.

Strong ties between two regions have been established, but there are still ways to develop cooperation in all areas, Ivan Krupko said at the meeting. He emphasized that Gomel Oblast seeks closer ties with Primorye Territory in mechanical engineering, chemical and woodworking industries.

Oleg Kozhemyako expressed confidence in further strengthening of the relations. Thus, work is underway to find a site for a Belarusian trading house in Primorye.

The parties also discussed the development of cultural ties between young people. They shared plans to organize historical and patriotic tours for students of Primorye Territory around the memorial places of Belarus.

The representatives of Primorye also confirmed their participation in the economic forum due in Gomel in September.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the status of the agreement on international and foreign economic relations between Gomel Oblast and Primorye Territory in trade, science and technology, social, humanitarian and cultural areas.

Ivan Krupko and Oleg Kozhemyako signed an action plan to develop cooperation for 2024-2025.
