The Department of sports and tourism of Gomel city Executive Committee shall:
- conducting in the city of a unified state policy in the field of physical culture, sport and tourism;
- introduction to the practice of evidence-based physical education and health population, development of children and youth sports, sports higher achievements, coordination of physical and sports activities among the disabled and individuals with poor health;
- to create a mass development of physical culture, sport and tourism and their promotion among the population of the city;
- coordination of activities of state and public organizations for the development of physical culture, sport and tourism;
- ensuring the development and efficient use of material and technical base for physical culture and sports.
