Belarus expects to produce the first batch of electric vehicles in 2021, first Deputy industry Minister Sergei Gunko told reporters today, BelTA has learned.
"To organize the production of electric vehicles, any production, you need quite serious training, financial resources, and payback. We don't see such economic efficiency yet. However, even with this in mind, we set the task to organize production from 500 to 1000 units next year," said Sergey Gunko.
According to him, there are many technical problems and problems related to the software, the availability of sufficient charging infrastructure. The problem is the drop in battery charge when the temperature drops in the winter season.
In addition, government agencies are discussing financial incentives for the purchase of electric vehicles.
