Belarus’ export to Russia up by 30%, China by 2.5 times

MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – Belarus increased its export to Russia by 30%, to China by 2.5 times, Deputy Economy Minister Dmitry Yaroshevich said in an interview with the Panorama program on the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA informs.

The sanctions prompted Belarus to redirect exports and grow supplies to friendly countries. “We managed to increase our sales to China by 2.5 times, to the Russian Federation by 30%. And there is still room for growth. The share of Belarusian goods on the Russian market now is about 8%, while a year ago it was 5.5%. Yet, we can still do better, because there was a time when our products accounted for 11% of the Russian market ,” Dmitry Yaroshevich said.

According to him, in January-August the export to the Russian Federation  approached $14 billion, and the trade between the two countries amounted to about $27 billion.
