Belarus’ Gomel Oblast to send big delegation to China International Import Expo

Companies from Gomel Oblast will showcase a wide range of products at the 6th China International Import Expo that will be held in Shanghai in November, head of the Foreign Economic Relations Department of the Economy Committee of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Irina Davydenko told BelTA.

Products from Gomel Oblast will be on display in several pavilions, including Consumer Goods, High-Tech Equipment and Information Technologies, Food and Agricultural Products. The inconclusive list of the enterprises that have already confirmed their participation features Gomselmash, Gomel Chemical Plant, Mozyr Oil Refinery, Svetlogorsk Khimvolokno, Svetlogorsk Pulp and Board Mill, Gomel Fat Factory, Spartak, Milkavita, Rogachev Milk Canning Factory, Turov Dairy Plant.

“In line with the concept of Belarus’ National Exposition, the Days of Gomel Oblast will be held in Shanghai on 8 November. We will present trade, economic and tourism potential of our region to Chinese partners. The program will include presentations of products by our exporting companies and a presentation of preferences for investors at the FEZ Gomel-Raton,” said Irina Davydenko.

According to her, over the past five years, the trade between Gomel Oblast and China increased almost three times, or by $200 million. The majority of exports are wood pulp, timber, fertilizers, as well as meat, dairy and confectionery products.

As reported, the 6th China International Import Expo will be running in Shanghai on 5-10 November. Belarus will show its best achievements in a large-scale country pavilion and commercial pavilions. The Belarusian pavilion will be styled as the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus. The organizers of the Belarusian national exposition are the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its exhibition enterprise Belinterexpo. More than 150 countries representing the regions of Asia, Africa and Europe are expected to take part in the China International Import Expo this year.
