Border service: 2,305 Ukrainian citizens enter Belarus since 24 February

MINSK, 18 March (BelTA) – Since 24 February, 2,305 citizens of Ukraine entered the territory of Belarus, BelTA learned from the State Border Committee.

"From 24 February to 18 March, 1,480 citizens of Ukraine arrived in the Republic of Belarus from the Ukrainian territory, 776 in transit through Poland, 45 through Lithuania, and 4 through Latvia. From 6.00 on 17 March to 6.00 on 18 March, 421 citizens of Ukraine arrived in Belarus from the Ukrainian territory, the State Border Service said.

The Belarusian side provides the people with the necessary assistance.

The Belarus Red Cross deployed a mobile heating unit in the village of Gden, Gomel Oblast, near the border for the people who arrived from the Ukrainian territory.

Belarusian checkpoints are operating in a routine mode.
