Gomel dairy exports to UAE up near ninefold in 2023

GOMEL, 19 September (BelTA) — Exports of Gomel dairy products to the UAE rose almost ninefold by the end of 2023, Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Ivan Krupko said at a meeting of heads of partner regions, representatives of diplomatic missions and business organizations within the framework of the Gomel Economic Forum, BelTA has learned.

He welcomed the increasing trade between the countries. According to him, the UAE is Belarus' main trading partner among the Arab states of the Persian Gulf. "The trade shows impressive dynamics. Last year the export of dairy products manufactured in Gomel Oblast skyrocketed almost ninefold. This is the result of the participation of our producers in the international exhibition in Dubai and, certainly, the personal achievement of the UAE ambassador who has already visited our region three times," he stressed.

Ivan Krupko expressed confidence that the potential of mutually beneficial relations between the countries and regions in various areas is still huge.

The 18th Gomel Economic Forum brought together over 400 representatives of Belarus and foreign countries. The business program focuses on the key matters of Gomel Oblast’s development in industry, exports, innovations, investments and other areas. During the forum the participants will have an opportunity to get acquainted with the economic potential of the region, discuss issues of interest during panel discussions, find reliable partners and sign mutually beneficial contracts.
