Gomel City Executive Committee

GOMEL, 12 June (BelTA) - The legendary T-34 tank, which was the first to break into Gomel during the liberation operation in 1943, was returned to its place after renovations. Currently, Vosstaniya [Uprising] Square that houses the tank is underway renovations. The square is named after the uprising of soldiers and sailors of the transit point in 1916. During the Second World War, there was a death camp in this place. The ashes of thousands of innocent Gomel residents rest here.
