Program of cooperation in deradicalization for 2025-2027 drafted in CIS

MINSK, 9 November (BelTA) - A meeting of the expert group to finalize the CIS draft program of cooperation in deradicalization for 2025-2027 was held in Minsk, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

The meeting brought together representatives of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the CIS Anti-Terrorist Center, and the Secretariat of the Council of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and Executive Committee of the CIS.

During the meeting, the experts finalized the document, taking into account the comments and suggestions received. It was decided to submit it to the CIS Heads of State Council for consideration in accordance with the established procedure.

The press service noted that the development of the draft program was initiated by Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to eradicate the causes and conditions that contribute to the emergence and spread of radicalism.

The set of measures envisaged in the program is based on the provisions of the CIS Concept for the Further Development and the Plan of Action to it. When drawing up the document, experts took into account the universally recognized principles and norms of international law, the international obligations of the CIS member states and their national laws.
