Starting from January 1, 2021, the base rate for budget organizations is set at Br195 in accordance with the resolution of the Council of Ministers of November 18, 2020 No. 659 "on setting the base rate". This leads to an increase in salaries in budget organizations, BelTA learned from the Ministry of labor and social protection.

Compared to 2020, the base rate will increase by Br10, or 5.4%. "This amount is determined taking into account the forecast of the main parameters of the socio-economic development of Belarus," the Ministry of labor noted. - The base rate is the main element of the tariff system, which is used to pay employees of budget organizations and other organizations that receive subsidies, whose employees are equal in remuneration to employees of budget organizations."

Thus, this measure will affect more than Br830 thousand public sector employees.

In January-September of this year, the growth rate of nominal accrued wages of employees of budget organizations compared to the corresponding period of 2019 was 119.8%, the real growth rate was Br113.9%.
