Sovetskaya str., 25

It is a one-storey L-shaped building. It faces Sovetskaya Street with a long side facade. The facade on Pervomaiskaya Street is decorated with a high porch in front of the main entrance and above it there is an attic of a complex shape with a through hatchway. There are four symmetrically arranged (two wide and two narrow) window apertures topped with keystones and demarcated by horizontally rusticated blades on both sides of the front door. There are 11 windows facing   Sovetskaya Street - the extreme ones, as well as on the main facade, they are marked with horizontally rusticated blades. There is a massive profiled cornice under the roof. The roof is metal and has two slopes, while the corner part has four slopes.

At the end of the XIX century in the central part of the city in the area between Rumyantsevskaya, Irininskaya and Lipovaya streets (nowadays - Sovetskaya, Pervomaiskaya and Pushkina streets respectively) a complex of buildings of the railway hospital was formed. It consisted of two-storey medical building and auxiliary constructions, including the building at the present address – 25, Sovetskaya street. According to its artistic and stylistic features, the house can be classified as an example of architecture of the so-called “brick style”, which was typical for the city construction at the turn of the XIX and XX centuries. There is no exact information about its use at that time. But it is known that doctor Abramyants, who may have been the main doctor at the hospital, lived in the building at the beginning of the XXth century. After World War II, during which the building did not receive any serious damage, it was repaired. Until 1987 it was used for medical and health services. There was a blood transfusion point, physical therapy centre, etc. In 1987, it was transferred to the balance of the Educational Establishment "Belarusian State University of Transport". The last renovation took place in 2005.
